Well it's safe to say, I am exhausted from 7 days of training! I finally went to a pub tonight to let off a little steam and pressure. It has been pretty overwhelming and exhausting ... but in the same sense, rewarding and proud. We get up around 6 every day to catch a bus to the training academy in Watford England. Once at the academy, we stay there all day until 5:30. Catch the bus back to the YMCA where we stay and have dinner. As soon as dinner is over, we have to start studying. The amount of information we have to retain in a day is what I would learn in about a week at MSUM! And we get tested on it the next day. If we do one step or one thing wrong, we get called out in front of the class! It's very intense! The things I have learned already however, have been very very worthwhile. I definitely feel prepared for whatever it is I need to be doing next ... I am so so so excited to find out which ship I will be sent on!
Today I graduated from Elemis training. I know the spa treatments for massage on the ship ... so I'm ready to go ... now this week I will learn hot stone massage, bamboo, and another one I have never heard of ... haha
It has been really hard to keep in touch back home ... but now that the first week is done, I will have more time to make a few phone calls. We don't have facebook where we are staying because it is blocked! UGH! They find it too occupying for us ... really? haha. I know have a new roommate and she is from Belgium. My other roommate was from Portugal has been sent on a ship ... lucky girl! It is really fun just saying hi to anyone around here because you have no idea what type of accent they will be speaking with ... it's crazy. So right now I am sitting by people from Reno NV, Serbia, Slovakia, Canada, South Africa, and Australia. Thank goodness I speak English ... it makes life very easy around here. I have next weekend off so I am hoping to go to Portsmouth for the weekend and catch up with a friend or maybe London ... but it's still up in the air. So I will send another update as soon as I can ... and for now ... I am just waiting for a ship!!!
CHEERS xoxo Liz
